How to Dress for a Trip to the Museum

I still can’t believe I graduated with my Master’s degree. It was so nice to see family who flew in from all over the country and world and I enjoyed the time to much with them. Graduation day was just wonderful, the sun was shining for the first time in a while as if it knew there was something to celebrate that day. That night, we drove to New Haven to eat at a great restaurant called Union League Café to have a great dinner. If you are ever in the area and want to have a special experience, check this restaurant out, it is delicious.

The following days we explored Connecticut and had so much fun driving to town like Mystic or Old Lyme. In Old Lyme we found a cute little museum that used to be the mecca of American impressionist artists who would spend their summers at a house there. Now, it is a museum and people can experience the New England atmosphere while looking at American impressionists’ paintings. It was a beautiful day and the garden of the museum was the perfect setting for a photo shooting.

Comfortable but Stylish

I was a little sick that day and since I knew we were going to explore some towns, I wanted to wear something comfortable. So I chose some black Victoria’s Secret leggings (you can find a similar one here)  that are tight but super pleasant to wear. I combined them with a wider beige Michael Kors shirt and slip-on sneakers from J.Crew. The sneakers are already a little older but you can find similar white lace shoes here. When you spend a whole day in the same outfit and you are doing sightseeing or exploring museums, comfortable shoes and a relaxing outfit are the best tip I can give you. I chose a dark green Longchamp bag to be my companion for the day. It is big enough to fit everything you need in it. Just love this casual outfit.

What do you think about the outfit? Do you have other tips to dress best for a visit at the museum? I can’t wait to read your comments.
